Shakespeare once wrote, “Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows.” (Tempest 2:2) Today a common extension is politics makes strange bedfellows, meaning that political characters form peculiar associations, often in strange times. Indeed strange is our timeline when a cartoon frog became a symbol of hatred during the 2016 United States Presidential campaign.
There are no stranger bedfellows than Zionist Jews and the Dissident Right ( patronizingly called the “Alt Right,” Far Right, or Ethnonationalists), or Reformist Muslims and the Right Wing of American political intrigue. Muslim puppets without strings like Representative Ilhan Omar (appointed a seat in Congress on the basis of immigration fraud) support anti-Israeli measures and share anti-Jewish memes that endeared her and her Muslim comrade Rashida Tlaib to some groups of far right Conservatives.
Islamic apologists supply reactionary polemics to any critical appraisal to the faith, retreating to safe-groupthink words. “Islamophobia,” “racist,” “bigot,” “neo-nazi,” “Zionist,” are the safe-zone watchwords of Muslim apologists use to deflect the reality that dimensions of ruinous violence and oppression exist in Islamic doctrine.
Islamic apologists claim that any critical analysis of the Qur’an and Hadith is lost in interpretation, and will predictably retreat to their safe zone watchwords (Islamophobia). Islam is a semitic religious-political-social cult that instructs its adherents to lie. The act of righteous lying and disinformation is called taqiyya. In the words of Sami Makarem, PhD in Middle Eastern Studies:
«Taqiyya is of fundamental importance in Islam. PRACTICALLY EVERY ISLAMIC SECT AGREES TO IT AND PRACTICES IT. We can go so far as to say that the practice of taqiyya is mainstream in Islam, and that those few sects not practicing it diverge from the mainstream. For strange bedfellows between Zionists and Muslims you will notice a man who calls himself Imam Mohamad Tawhidi, or the “Imam of Peace” endeared himself to alt Conservatives. Imam Tawhidi has an internet following of over 900,000 followers and subscribers on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube combined. Tawhidi has been interviewed by alt Conservative media and “Alt Right” e-celebrities.
In March 2019, Tawhidi publicly supported Jewish Supremacist and Jewish Defense League advocate Dov Hikind. Also in March, Tawhidi shared content from Amy Mekelburg and Pauline Hanson – both women extremely vocal in their criticism of Islam. These public displays of should be red flags for Dissident Conservatives.
A Shia Muslim raised in Australia, born and educated in Iran, Tawhidi presents himself as an Islamic Reformist who embraces and amplifies warnings that immigration by his fellow Muslims poses an existential threat to Western Civilization and Culture. Former New York Assembly Member Dov Hikind praised Tawhidi to an audience of Orthodox Jews in Brooklyn in May 2019.
Imam Tawhidi is vocal in his support for Israel, condemning attacks against Israel and American Jews. The rock star Imam also voiced that “Palestine is Jewish land ” in an article with Huffington Post. Australian journalists revealed Tawhidi is a cleric with no academic credentials, no mosque, and less than a handful of followers in the real world. Tawhidi’s rock-star status in conservative social media circles matters because it has recently been weaponized by mainstream politicians.
Imam Mohamed Tawhidi’s far-right interlocutors think they are using him to further political exposure of Islam as a ruinous, vile cult. The media celebrity Imam clearly functions as a pro-Israeli mouthpiece and after all the Internet celebrity trappings are unveiled, is a Zionist. After all, he is a rock star to Orthodox Jews.
