Crucible Commentary:
The retraditionalization of Eastern European countries incentivizes marriage and childbirth, rejecting progressive anti-family sexual values. A growing number of Eastern European countries repudiate Globalist – Bolshevik U.N. Refugee and Immigration policies responsible for a great replacement of native European populations. Anti-Western Bolsheviks in the European Union are feeling increasingly threatened by Eastern European nations finding their cultural identity and retraditionalizing their people tired of seeing their culture destroyed by hostile “refugees,” and “immigrants” from the Middle East and Africa.
In Europe and the West, the so-called progressive “intersectional” ‘sexual liberty’ in the West destroys families, lowers birth rates, spawned a rarely-reported on epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases, gutted the sacred pact of marriage between men and women, and now seeks to sexualize children through transgender acceptance. Russia’s Roskomnadzor recently blocked the smut monopolies PornHub and YouPorn from Russian Internet Services. Since 2010, Hungarian marriage rates skyrocketed by 43%, accompanied by divorce rates plunging by more than 22%. With marriage rates on the rise, children are more welcome, and the abortion rate in Hungary has dropped by 33%, contributing to a birthrate that is at a twenty-year high.
Over the last two decades, Belarus and Russia have witnessed substantial fertility increases that have catapulted the Total Fertility Rates of these countries from lowest-low fertility to levels above 1.7 children per women. In 2013, The Republic of Georgia incentivized childbearing. Paid parental leave was extended from 126 to 183 days and unpaid leave from 477 to 730 days. The government supported by the Georgian Orthodox Church increased their “baby bonus,” a one-time payout for having a child, from about $250 to about $400 (Georgia’s GDP per capita is only about $9,000). Georgia increased the bonus for a fourth child to nearly $800. In 2014, the Republic of George began offering parents of three or more kids in low-population regions an $850 annual payment.
Additional pro-family policies are set to take effect in Hungary on July 1, including a 3,000 euro mortgage reduction for those who have a second child and a 12,000 euro reduction for a third child. In 2020, Hungarian mothers of more than four children will receive a lifetime personal tax exemption. Retraditionalization allows women to choose what they actually want—as Hungary’s rising birthrates indicates, Hungarian women, and women all across Eastern European nations, want to have children and build families.
And who objects to pro-family pro-Western revitalization of Eastern European peoples? Globalists. Cultural Bolsheviks. Eastern European people, especially in Poland and Hungary witnessed that post-modernism and Marxism have been tried and found poisonous. They suffered under miserable anti-Western regimes. “Democratic Socialism” marketed by the European Union, the new Soviet Socialists, does not hold the same shine for the peoples of Eastern Europe as it does for the Millennial Westerners who believe oppression is censorship on Facebook or Twitter. The proud Slavs have lived through Cultural Bolshevism, they have borne the brunt of it after World War II, and now are securing a future for their children, just as the West falls for Cultural Bolshevism.
Using financial incentives to boost fertility works. Retraditionalization as we see in Hungarian nationalist pro-family policies, works. May Hungary and the proud Slavs set an example and rekindle the Light of Europa to the world!
Hungary has offered a model to the West of how to effectively address the widespread demographic crisis, writes Catholic University of America theology professor Chad Pecknold.
While European nations languish with rapidly declining birthrates, Hungary stands out with rising marriage rates, falling abortions, and its highest birthrate in 20 years, Pecknold notes in an essay in the Catholic Herald Thursday.
Marriage is up by 43 percent since 2010, while divorce has dropped by 22.5 percent in the same period. This demographic turnaround has not been an accident, but the fruit of deliberate programs to promote marriage and the family while defending Hungary’s cultural identity and Christian roots.
“After we won the election in 2010 with a two-thirds majority, we decided to build a family-friendly country and to strengthen families raising children,” said Hungary’s Minister for the Family, Katalin Novak.
Standing firm in its position despite fierce opposition from the socialist left, the Orbán government enacted legislation resulting in “a comprehensive family-support system, a family-friendly tax system, a housing program, 800,000 new jobs, and many opportunities to create a balance between life and work,” Ms. Novak stated.
As Breitbart News has reported, the Orbán government has introduced seven family-friendly government programs encouraging Hungarians to have children in response to the European Union’s mass migration agenda.
“We are living in times when fewer and fewer children are being born throughout Europe. People in the West are responding to this with immigration,” Prime Minister Orbán said at the State of the Nation address in Budapest in February.
“Hungarians see this in a different light. We do not need numbers, but Hungarian children,” the Fidesz party leader added.
The new law will come into effect July 1 and includes pro-family incentives such as a 3,000 euro mortgage reduction for a second child, a 12,000 euro reduction for a third child, a car-purchasing program for large families, and comprehensive daycare.
As of 2020, mothers with four or more children will enjoy a lifetime personal income tax exemption. “Hungary is proving that pro-family policies are better for nations than those policies which deracinate and diminish the family by the whims of ideological dictate,” Pecknold observes.
